My Review of A Billion Reasons Why by Kristin Billerbeck

I was excited to read A Billon Reasons Why by Kristin Billerbeck. I have to say that from the first page, the book had my attention and kept it until the end of the story. Billerbeck has created fun and interesting characters that you feel like you know from the moment you meet them. I loved how the story capitvated my interest and threw in a few surprises in the plot.
Katie is focused on her career as a special needs teacher and plans to marry her current boyfriend because he fits the description of what she thinks her life should look like if she wants a stable marriage and family where everything fits neatly in "the box." And then, in walks the love of her life from 8 years ago...the one that got away. From the moment Luc walks in her classroom door, the magnetism between the two characters is charged with energy and you know that Katie should be with Luc because he is the one she has truly loved all along. Katie loves all things that have to do with the 1940s and the references to music and movie history from that era made this book even more enjoyable and interesting.
As Katie returns to her home in New Orleans, we see the story unfold as Katies tries to bring closure to the love she had for Luc so that she can move on with her practical and organized life. But as we all hope for, in the end, true love prevails. Although I thought a lot of the story was predictable, I enjoyed every page of this book. It felt like I was watching a favorite chick flick that you never get tired of. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a good romance.
I received a copy of this book to review from Book Sneeze, but was not obligated to give a positive opinion.

My Review of Voices of the Faithful Book 2

Voices of the Faithful (Book 2) compiled by Kim P. Davis was created by Beth Moore. This is a book that tells stories about different missionaries and Christians from all over the world. There is a devotion for each day of the year and each month focuses on a different theme such as prayer, divine appointments, God as our loving Father, etc. There is an introduction for each month written by Davis and each story or devotional for the day is written by a different person from around the world. There is also a Scripture for the day as well as a prayer at the end of each day.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I like the way that each month is set up with a theme and gives you a focus that is consistent for that month. There is a wide variety of stories and devotionals. The stories range from miraculous to encouraging to inspirational to challenging.  As a Christian, it is a great book to serve as a reminder of what so many give up for the cause of their faith in Christ.
It should be noted that Beth Moore is the creator of the series and that she wrote the introduction of the book, but that she did not write any of the devotionals or stories shared in the book. Readers who are looking to read this as one of the books that she authored will be disappointed because she is not the primary author in this book.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys reading a daily devotional and who is looking for insprirational stories of heroes of the Christian faith.
